SankofaSpirit takes its name from the West African word "SANKOFA" which literally translated means "it is not taboo to go back and fetch what you forgot."

That is, "SANKOFA" implores people of African descent to return to and learn from their African roots in order to move forward. 

SankofaSpirit is dedicated to providing cultural and educational programs and services that focus on Africa and the African Diaspora.

Through its program and services, SankofaSpirit encourages people of African descent to reclaim their glorious past, rekindle their inner spirit and reconnect with their great legacy.
